Becoming a Member
Membership Covenant
Membership at Brinnon Community Church is a voluntary covenant relationship, not merely a formality of enrollment. This Membership Covenant gives written expression to the commitments described in the Bylaws (Article I — Membership Commitment and Responsibilities) so that each member may prayerfully affirm them in their own hand. (Acts 2:41–42; Hebrews 10:24–25)
Covenant
Having professed personal faith in Jesus Christ as my Savior and Lord, and desiring to unite with the fellowship of believers at Brinnon Community Church, I make the following covenant before God and this congregation:
- I will pursue an abiding, growing relationship with Jesus Christ through prayer, the study of God’s Word, and dependence on the Holy Spirit.
- I will uphold the Church’s Statement of Faith and support its mission, doctrine, and governing documents.
- I will faithfully participate in the worship, fellowship, discipleship, and mission of this church when reasonably able, recognizing that regular gathering with the body strengthens both myself and others. (Hebrews 10:24–25)
- I will seek to preserve the unity, peace, and doctrinal integrity of this church, avoiding gossip and divisiveness and pursuing reconciliation when conflict arises. (Ephesians 4:1–6; Matthew 18:15–20)
- I will pray faithfully for this church, its leaders, and its ministries.
- I will serve according to the spiritual gifts God has given me, as opportunities arise.
- I will support the ministry of this church through faithful stewardship, as God provides. (2 Corinthians 9:6–7)
- I will encourage, restore, and care for fellow members in Christian love. (Galatians 6:1–2)
- I will willingly receive biblical shepherding, counsel, and accountability from the Elders, submitting to loving correction as Scripture directs. (Hebrews 13:17)
Acknowledgment
I understand that membership does not save me — my standing before God rests on Christ alone — but is my willing response to walk in covenant community with this local body of believers. I understand that this covenant may be revisited as the Lord continues to shape my walk with Him, and that the Elders are available to discuss any part of it with me at any reasonable time.
